Safeguarding

At New Leaf School, we firmly believe that it is always unacceptable for any child or young person to experience abuse in any form. We recognise that abuse can take many different shapes—ranging from neglect or failure to meet basic needs to physical harm.

We are committed to ensuring that all our pupils understand that abuse in any form is not acceptable. We want all students to feel comfortable knowing that our staff are here to listen, support and help at any time. Safeguarding the welfare of every child is everyone’s responsibility at New Leaf School. In line with the Walsall Safeguarding Partnership procedures, we place the welfare of the child at the heart of all decisions.

It is our duty to respond promptly and appropriately to any concerns, incidents or allegations of abuse or neglect. We work closely with children, young people, their families and external agencies to provide the best possible care and support. Our approach is informed by statutory guidance, including Working Together to Safeguard Children (2018) and Keeping Children Safe in Education (2024).
